FAQs
BEFORE YOUR SESSION
-
Absolutely. In fact, most of the images of dogs you see here were taken on lead, and the magic of retouching removed them without a trace!
For the picture-taking part, I recommend having your dog on a flat collar rather than a harness, choke chain, or martingale collar, as these photograph nice and cleanly.
They can absolutely be in their other gear when we’re walking between locations though.
-
This is not a problem! I have two very rambunctious pups so I am used to working with high-energy dogs who struggle to remain calm at times! Working with and owning dogs over the years has taught me a lot and I understand the importance of empathy and patience when working with our four-legged friends.
-
Absolutely. As the owner of a reactive rescue dog I know first-hand that not all dogs are comfortable around strangers, other dogs, or unfamiliar environments.
Every session is tailored to your dog and their needs, ensuring they feel relaxed and secure throughout the session.
-
Absolutely! I love capturing the bond between you and your pup, and I think it’s so important to document the connection you share.
If you’re a bit nervous about being in front of the camera, don’t worry - lots of people are! There are lots of ways to include you in your dog’s portraits without you having to be front and centre. We’ll work together to create beautiful, natural images that celebrate your relationship with your dog.

I’ve put together a handy wee guide here to help you decide what to wear: What to wear
-
Bring your pup’s favourite treats and/or toys to help get their attention, depending on what they’re into! If they’re the drooly type, I’d also recommend bringing a cloth to give them a wee wipe between shots.
If you’re planning on joining in, bring a wee bag to pop your phone, keys and sunnies into so we can keep pockets smooth and heads sunglasses-free when it’s time for your close-up.
AFTER YOUR SESSION
-
Within about a week of your session we’ll meet again on Zoom for your ordering appointment, where you’ll see your images for the first time in a beautiful slideshow.
-
After you’ve seen your beautiful slideshow, we’ll go through your gallery together, choose your favourite images, and design artwork that’s perfect for your home.
This is when you’ll make your final selections, place your order and make payment.
Once you’ve made your selections, I’ll carefully retouch your chosen portraits before your artwork goes into production.
-
Once you have placed your order at your ordering appointment, I will get to work retouching your chosen images and your order will go into production.
If digital images are included in your order, you will receive these within 2 weeks. Artwork is usually ready in around 5-6 weeks from your order.

People come to me to create beautiful wall art and albums that celebrate the bond they share with their dog.
Most clients invest between $1500 and $2500 in their finished artwork, while some choose larger collections and invest more.
No matter what you choose to spend, my goal is to help you create something that feels perfect for you, your home, and your dog.
-
As my focus is on creating beautiful artwork for you to display in your home, digital files aren’t automatically included with your prize.
Matching digital files are included with any wall art, portrait box or album purchase.
